It's Not Home

Shane Hines

I've painted all the walls
Got a brand new favorite chair
Put up pictures in the halls
To make it feel like I'm somewhere
I'm doing all I can
Starting over on my own
And it's kinda getting there
But it's not home

CHORUS:
Everything is perfectly in place where it's supposed to be
except for me I'm lost here all alone
This place feels so strange to me
It's missing all the history
The memories of everything I know
It's where I live
But it's not home

The boxes have been gone
For a month or two by now
And I should be moving on
But I'm still no where bound
The sun comes streaming in
And it's beautiful I know
Sometimes I even like it here
But it's not home

CHORUS

Today I drove up to see my kids
At the house where I used to live

And everything is perfectly in place where it's supposed to be
except for me I'm lost here all alone
Everything feels so strange to me
This place has so much history
The memories of everything I know
But it's not home
It's not home

I've painted all the walls
Got a brand new favorite chair
