Just Like Nobody's Home

Kestin Howard

I was out driving 'round
And passed by this old house
The yard wasn't mowed
Somebody left it alone

The lights all burned out
And the shades pulled down
Standing lonesome and cold
Just like nobody's home

No pictures on the wall
No footsteps in the hall
No dinner on the stove
It's full of memories and ghosts

They might as well tear it down
There's no life to be found
Standing lonesome and cold
Just like nobody's home

I stopped by an old church
I asked the preacher,
"Where'd they go?"
He said, "The Lord came and called,
and carried them on."

And that once was a place
Friends and family would go
Oh the life, faith and love
Some it was home, sweet home

But know there's no pictures on the wall
No footsteps in the hall
No dinner on the stove
It's full of memories and ghosts

They might as well tear it down
There's no life to be found
Standing lonesome and cold
Just like nobody's home

They might as well tear it down
No life to be found
Standing lonesome and cold
Just like nobody's home
