The sun is rising on a clear November morning
And I feel inspired by the world that's thrown before me
There's a new beginning in a quiet lakefront town
There's a young girl smiling as she puts on her wedding gownAnd then she looks him in the eye, that's a look he's never seen
On a face that he's loved since the age of seventeen
And the small little chapel on the edge of town
Awakens from a slumber to a joyous soundOf a blue sky shining
Shining from above
Of a blue sky shining
Shining down on loveThere's a baby crying, she's been up all Saturday night
And her father loves her, well he loves her with all his life
And then she looks him in the eye, that's a look he's never seen
On a face that no man will ever come between
And the small little angel that he holds in his arms
Falls into a slumber just before dawnOf a blue sky shining
Shining from above
Of a blue sky shining
Shining down on loveThere's a soldier dying for the country he loves
And his mama's crying as she talks to her son
There's a tear in her eye as she kisses her boy goodbye
Because she knows he was proud to give his life
When she looked him in the eye at the age of eighteen
It's a face that no war will ever come between
As she held her little boy in her arms
She felt a shiver up and down her spine
She knew her boy was telling her goodbye
But someday further up the road, she knew that she would goTo the blue sky shining
Shining from above
With her son reunited
That's where she, where she, where she'd wanna go
To the blue sky shining
To the blue sky shining
To the blue sky shining
To the blue sky shining
