My hearts on fire and my brain's hanging upside down
There’s a little black spot on my mind today
I tried to wash it but it won’t come clean
It must have been something that I read somewhere
Or it must have been something I seen
Tonight there's a long red river
Flowing in old Rangoon
And freedom say come yet to Burma
But that freedom won't come soon
My hearts on fire and my brain's hanging upside down
It's a disaster all caught on film
I see a man down with a bullet in his back
And ten thousand monks all sworn to peace
Get lost in the first attack
The protests fade at the embassies
Where they called for the right to choose
I know the free world won't bring freedom
Back to Burma no time soon
My hearts on fire and my brain's hanging upside down
