Into the west he went riding one night
on Jericho's horse faster than light
faster than light and stronger than words
He rode off in search of the story's he'd heard
First came the captain a frustrated man
with diamond rings sparkling on both of his hands
The diamonds were real his hands were the lie
He said son I'm a fake but I know how to cry
Next he found love with a rodeo girl
in a caravan park called the end of the world
The world is so wide he just never knew
You can't tie down love with a golden lasoo
He came to a town where the people were cold
Glued to TV sets they bought and sold
He made his fortune guessing their names
When you don't like yourself even that is a change
He hit the heights with money to spend
On young movie stars down at the deep end
They got him stoned he liked it just fine
But nothings more lonesiome than wasting your time
Ride on Jericho
You'll make it alright
