a thought just kinda struck me as i'm lying here awake -
there's no accounting for the path a sleepless mind will take!
and since i came upon it now, I thought i'd set it down

you mind just sorta dances in the time before you sleep
you think you grasp a lot of things but very few you keep -
so as these thoughts are passin' through, i let most of them go
