Yesterday on the street
I thought I saw you
Hadn’t thought about you in a week
Nor tried to call you
But you turned and walked away
When I called your name
And it became clear to me
That it was not the same
So I pulled up the collar of my coat
And re-adjusted my hat
Tried to follow my feet
But they didn’t know where I was at
I was remembering the day
Into my life you came
And it was so clear to me

Funny how things start out
Like a warm day in September
And before you know it
It’s a cold day in December
There are places you are going
And there’s a place you don’t belong
And it’s no surprise
When you realize
That you must be movin’ on
I watched the sunrise this morning
And I kissed you in my mind
I’d like to move ahead
If I could only find the time
I called out to you
As it began to rain
