Summon Belteshazzar, Ive had another dream
Spanning across the sky a majestic tree
The birds and beasts were shaded and all of flesh was fed
By the massive tree in the visions of my headThere came a holy one from heaven and I heard him cry aloud
Strip the leaves, cut the branches, and chop the great tree down
Let the beasts leave, the birds fly
Leave the stump and roots in the groundTell me what this meansBelteshazzar, what say you?Oh king if only the dream applied to your enemies
If only its meaning to your adversaries
The tree that you saw, so vast and so strong
Providing abundance and shelter for allOh king it is you! Your greatness has grown
Your dominion extends cross the earth
But the Most High decrees against you my king
Youll be driven away and youll live with the beastsSeven times will pass you by
Til you know the Most High
Is sovereign above kingdoms of menIs not this great Babylon,
that I have built for a royal dwelling
by my mighty power
and for the honor of my majesty?The kingdoms departed from you
Driven from men to the beasts of the field
Completely soaked with the dew
Hair grown like feathers and talon-like nailsEating the grass like an ox
Seven times pass over you
Know that the Most High He rules
Gives kingdoms of men to whomever he choosesAt the end of the time, I Nebuchadnezzar
lifted my eyes to heaven
and my understanding returned to me
and I blessed the Most High
and praised and honored Him who lives forever!Sovereign over kingdoms of men
His dominion is eternal
His kingdom generations it spans
Commanding the armies of heavenI praise and I honor, extol
The Almighty King of Heaven
Whose works are truth and His ways justice
Able to put down the proud
