Cruisin' with the top down,
Drivin' all around town
Flyin' with you baby all day til the sundown.
Makin a wish on a perfect day,
Baby you're smilin' in a perfect way.
So I'm sunburn, what's the problem?
Had a lot of worries but I just forgot 'em
Don't you love riding?
Heck, I love drivin'
Shift it into six and start flyin'.
(Chorus)
The perfect day
To fly away from here
Just me and the pavement
But all I gotta do is steer.
I'm sippin' on a water,
Flippin' on the starter,
Baby it's hot, gonna get a lot hotter.
But it's okay cause I've got the keys,
Close your eyes just relax in the breeze
Be my tires on the pavement,
I've got a nickel but I just might save it.
Drive into the sunset
Kick the seat back
Perfect day and I love it.
(Chorus)
The perfect day
To fly away from here
Just me and the pavement
But all I gotta do is steer.
And they'll say,
"So where you going?"
"I'll let you know when I get there.
And all's worth knowing is I don't know
And I don't care.
I'd take the fast lane
'cause it's the short way,
But what's the use?
I have got all the time in the world to lose.
I'm driving with the zoom-zoom,
LIstenin' to the boom-boom,
Smile at me, baby I love you,
Thankin' my God for the perfect girl,
Makin' it seem like the perfect world
So I'm runnin' now on empty,
I had a nickel but it's now five pennies.
And a Lincoln for a gallon for my car and
Drive all night long, yeah.
(Chorus)
The perfect day
To fly away from here
Just me and the pavement
But all I gotta do is steer.
Oh, it was a perfect day, (so perfect)
To fly away from here (fly away from here and)
Just me and the pavement, (oh, no)
But all I gotta do is steer.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
