Prisoner

I was born in a prison

with no hope for escape

I got used to the silence

as I stuck in my cage

you can not miss

what you have never seen before

but deep inside you know

there must be more

I heard a voice but I could not follow

it was a language I didn‘t know

I‘ve seen a light and it used to blind me

was it real or just a dream?

as I left no one tried to stop me

so I learned,

I was always as free as I wanted to be

I was always as free as a bird

I was always as free as I wanted to be

but I was just too scared to see

who I could be
