Reversed and Rendered

I signed a judgement for a million,

the verdict was intact

But it was subject to appeal and

they sent that judgement back

They wrote upon it:

Reversed and rendered, redress unknown

No such statute, no such code

It had an error - harmful at that

I keep on trying 'em but those cases

keep coming back

And then I had another case with issues just the same

So then I ruled the other way but it came

right back again

Unanimously:

Reversed and rendered, redress unknown

No such stature, no such code

Next time I'll just remind myself:

"You're gonna get reversed again"

At least I won't have to work very hard

Unless it's a "remand"

I'd rather have it:

Reversed and rendered
