1988 Lyrics

We in 1984
But you always seem to want more
But I never gave it to you (never gave it to you)Back in 1985
You said that I hurt your pride
But you close up bad and so do you (it's what I thought of you)I can't
I can't
I can't keep doing thisI'll wait
I'll wait
I'll wait
I'll wait, wait until 1988
(Hold on to me and I'll hold on to you)
(Hold on to me and I'll hold on to you)
(Hold on to me and I'll hold on to you)
(Cause knowing you is all I can do)Way back in 86
Getting up to old tricks
You said I was a girl you could fix (girl I'd like to fix)In 1987 we had four months in heaven
But then you said you had to leaveI can't
I can't

I can't keep doing thisI'll wait
I'll wait
I'll wait
I'll wait, wait until 1988
(Hold on to me and I'll hold on to you)
(Hold on to me and I'll hold on to you)
(Hold on to me and I'll hold on to you)
(Cause knowing you is all I can do)Forever too late
1989, one year at a time
It's never too late
1989, one year at a time(One year at a time)
(One year at a time)
(One year at a time)
(One year at a time)

Summer Camp are a London based duo formed in 2009. Having formed by accident after deciding to cover The Flamingos' I Only Have Eyes for You, the band did not initially reveal their identities, claiming to be six Swedish teenagers, but a report by independent music newspaper The Stool Pigeon revealed that they were solo artist Jeremy Warmsley and journalist Elizabeth Sankey. Their debut single, Ghost Train, backed with Montgomery Avenue 1984, was released on Moshi Moshi as part of their Singles Club in April 2010.
