31/32 Lyrics

You were voted most likely
To have your name go up in lights
Only took a few years to see that through
Now you're most likely to end up dead
Alone in a hotel room 31/32Roust the boy, smack the wife
Might have one case tonight
Alcoholic breath, thick drool
Repetitive, belligerent, cruelCan't get away, no hiding place
The boy hesitates, when grown
He'll make the same mistakesGrocery checkout line
Residing in the welfare file
Child support, don't receive
Mama crying, no reliefThey got no home, three kids and on her own
Revenge his name, pay back all the painGutshot defender, hole inside
Shell-shocked commander, are you alright?
Gutshot defender, bloodstain bright, hold tight
Shell-shocked commanderAge adult, mother gone
Friends with dad don't really talk

Wanted to, now you're a star
Make a living milking scarsThe boy hesitates, lost his way
The boy hesitates, first and last mistakeGutshot defender, fill the hole
There is no commander anymore
Gutshot defender, will survive, yes I
You are no pretender, no pretenderYou were voted most likely
To have your name go up in lights
Only took a few years to see that through
Now you're most likely to end up dead
Alone in a hotel room 31/32
