A Dying Ember Lyrics

Advisory - the following lyrics contain explicit language:
These darkened days and restless nights
Are passing by, passing by like never ending years
What is left for me to keep me bearing up against this pain
Buried deep inside, inside my soulAnd all that's left are memories
These pictures of unworried days
But no one's there to save my legacy
It will just perish, fade with me, fade with meNo one awaits me, nothing diverts me
This withered body is no empty shell
A dying emberThere is my God to carry me
But in this world, I needed youNo one awaits me, nothing diverts me

This withered body is no empty shell
And my bright eyes still realize your apathy
My heart beats strong, it still beats strongThere is my God to carry me
But in this world, I needed you
What is left for me to keep, keep bearing up against this pain
There is no God to ease this painNo one awaits me, nothing diverts me
This withered body is no empty shell
And my bright eyes still realize your apathy
My heart beats strong, it still beats strongNothing to live for, nothing to fight for
An emptiness fulfills my days
Emptiness fulfills my daysOn my own
A dying emberNothing to live for, nothing to fight for
An emptiness fulfills my days
Shall bear this pain, bear this pain to hold my hand

Heaven Shall Burn was formed in autumn 1996, under the name 'Consense'. With the recording of their second demo in early 1997 the band changed their name to 'Heaven Shall Burn'. The name is taken from a Marduk album titled "Heaven Shall Burn... When We Are Gathered". In an interview with the band at decoymusic.com, the band said: "It’s not that we’re huge Marduk fans, but we liked the name. It sounds a bit provoking and so people ask us again and again for the meaning behind our name. It has been like that since the very beginning.
