A Promise (Lo Fi Lullabye #1) Lyrics

You said "Something will change"
We were all dressed up
Somewhere to go, no sign of rain
But something will change, you promisedYou said "Nothing will change"
We were almost near, almost far
Down came the rain
But nothing will change, you promisedA promise
A promise
A promiseIt's exactly the same
You said "It's always the same
But I'll make it change
Into something the same, I promise"A promise
A promise
A promiseLight on the waves
Light on the waves
Light on the waves
Light on the wavesA promise
A promise

A promise
A promise(Light on the water)
A promise
(We could sail on forever)
A promise
(There's light on the water)
A promise
(We could sail on forever)
A promise
(There's light on the water)
A promise

Echo & the Bunnymen are a British post-punk band formed in Liverpool in 1978. The original line-up consisted of Ian McCulloch (of The Crucial Three), Will Sergeant and Les Pattinson. There are many stories, probably apocryphal, that the quartet was completed by a drum machine known as "Echo". By the time of their debut album, 1980's Crocodiles - a moderate UK hit - the drum machine had been replaced by Pete de Freitas.
