Advertising Space Lyrics

There's no earthly way of knowing
What was in your heart when it stopped going
The whole world shook
A storm was blowing through youWaiting for God to stop this
And up to your neck in darkness
Everyone around you was corrupted
Say somethingThere's no dignity in death
To sell the world your last breath
We're still fighting
Over everything you leftI saw you standing at the gates
When Marlon Brando passed away
You had that look upon your face
Advertising spaceNo one learned from your mistakes
We let our prophets go to waste
All that's left in any case
Is advertising spaceThrough your eyes the world was burning
"Please be gentle, I'm still learning"
You seemed to say as you kept turning upThey poisoned you with compromise

But at what point did you realize
Everybody loves your life but you?A special agent for the man
Through Watergate and Vietnam
No one really gave a damn
Do you think the C.I.A. did?I saw you standing at the gates
When Marlon Brando passed away
You had that look upon your face
Advertising spaceNo one learned from your mistakes
We let our prophets go to waste
All that's left in any case
Is advertising spaceNo one learned from your mistakes
We let our prophets go to waste
All that's left in any case
Is advertising spaceI've seen your daughter man
She's cute
I was scared but I wanted to
Boy, she looks a lot like you

Robert Peter Williams (born 13 February 1974, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire) is an English singer, songwriter, and record producer. While Williams' early pop career started with the hit boy band Take That, he has found far greater success since taking his leave in 1995. Williams has sold over 70 million records worldwide, which ranks him among the best-selling music artists worldwide. He is the best-selling British solo artist in the United Kingdom and the best selling non-Latino artist in Latin America.

Six of his albums are among the top 100 biggest-selling albums in the United Kingdom. He has also been honoured with seventeen BRIT Awards—more than any other artist—and seven ECHO Awards. In 2004, he was inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame after being voted as the "Greatest Artist of the 1990s."

The Candy Songfacts reports that Williams teamed up with his Take That bandmate Gary Barlow, to write the first single from his ninth studio album, Take The Crown. "Candy" will be released October 29, 2012.
