Todd Herzog is an artist who takes the raw material of life experiences and creates soulful, spiritual, acoustic pop music along the lines of John Mayer, Jason Mraz, and Marc Cohn. The music is not intended solely as entertainment but also to promote healing and change in people’s lives. His songs invite us to slow down and take a closer look at how the simple choices we make each day affect the shape of our journeys. After the loss of a dear friend to Leukemia in 1999, he had his own spiritual awakening and created his first album entitled What I Wouldn’t Give, which deals with grief, healing and a return to life. His latest album, Proverbs, takes quotes from the Bible and other philosophical texts and puts them into a modern context, bringing religion and spirituality together.
The music industry has stood up and taken notice of Todd’s talents. He has worked with some of the top songwriters in the world, including Burt Bacharach, Dave Koz, Craig Taubman and Harriet Schock. His debut album was named Best Pop Album in the Just Plain Folks Music Awards. According to Jennifer Layton of Indie-music.com, the album is a “spiritual gift of music… something this beautiful makes me believe that faith and hope are worth hanging onto.” His music and voice have been featured in television and film in shows such as The Young & The Restless, All My Children, One Life To Live, Who Wants To Marry My Dad, The Osbournes, and Melrose Place. He was recently profiled on NBC’s Arizona Midday Show and he was one of the featured performers at this year’s CAJE conference in St. Louis. This humble artist performs with such heart and soul that his live performances captivate the audience in a way that is rarely seen. Todd’s melodies and lyrics are healing and thought- provoking, and appeal to a wide age range. He is also proficient with bass, guitar, piano, violin, and sax. Todd performs both as a solo artist and with a band, depending upon the budget and needs of the venue.
