Alarms in the Heart Lyrics

Our dialogue ended before I intended,
I had to let go,
But I hope you're well,
I see you around the neighbourhood,
it's just so hard to know,Such overexacting and delicate acting,
I never know why,
Is it peace of mind,
Maybe all that I need,
is that you'd be straight with me tonight,Half the town is underground,
and half are halfway there,
and we're the only good ones left,
If there's a tremor in earth, love
a ripple in the water,
come back to haunt you,
keeping you awake,
I heard it before now,
that we don't listen very much,
to alarms in the heart, love,The spiritual fabric,

is sex and its magic,
it's kind of a hell,
but I tell myself,
it's the end of the world and it makes no difference to me now,Half the town is underground,
and half are halfway there,
and we're the only good ones left,Always argue down and out,
and you'll be in the clear,
it's just the way it is, I guess,
If there's a tremor in earth, love,
somrthing in the water,
come back to haunt you,
and you lie awake,
I heard it before now,
that we don't listen very much,
to alarms in the heart, love,If there's a tremor in earth, love
a ripple in the water,
come back to haunt you,
keeping you awake,
I heard it before now,
that we don't listen very much,
to alarms in the heart, love,
okay,

Since forming in spring 2009, Dry the River have toured extensively in the UK and Europe promoting their “careful mix of emotive, lilting folk and upbeat, impassioned rock’... NME. Based in a shared two-bedroom house in Stratford, east London, the five came together via circuitous geographical and musical routes. Musically the back-history is no less varied, with the band citing an esoteric list of influences - Leonard Cohen, At the Drive-In, Neil Young, Arlo Guthrie, Neutral Milk Hotel , Bruce Springsteen and Devendra Banhart.
