All That Glitters Is Not Gold Lyrics

This little girl said she really loved me
It won't last so I was told
People said that I would soon see
How all that glitters is not gold.Well I don't care what I've been told
It doesn't matter what people have said
I must confess my heart is sold
This little girl's gone to my head. She'll break your heart, just wait and see
She'll leave you high and dry
That's how these people bother me
But I'm sure that I'm her only boy.I'm gonna meet her tonight
When she'll be mine to have and to hold
Then I will prove that I was right
And all that glitters must be gold.INSTRUMENTALShe'll break your heart, just wait and see
She'll leave you high and dry
That's how these people bother me
But I'm sure that I'm her only boy.I waited round 'most all night long
Remembering what I had been told
She never came and I guess I was wrong

Well all that glitters is not gold
No all that glitters is not gold
Well that glitters is not gold . . .

Clifford Thomas Ward - Born 10 February 1944, Stourport-on-Severn, Worcestershire — 18 December 2001 Clifford T. Ward typified the early 70s bedsitter singer-songwriter with a series of albums that were at best delightful and at worst mawkish. Ward left grammar school before A-levels to work as a clerk, but by 1962 was fronting local beat group Cliff Ward and the Cruisers. The group changed their name to Martin Raynor and the Secrets and made their recording debut for EMI Records in 1965, before recording several more tracks as the Secrets for CBS Records.
