All You Pretty Girls Lyrics

Do something for me, boys
If I should die at sea, boys
Write a little note, boys
Set it off afloat, sayingBless you, bless you, all of you pretty girls
Village and city girls by the quayside
Bless you, bless you, all of you pretty girls
Watching and waiting by the seaBless you, bless you, all of you pretty girls
Quiet or witty girls by the quayside
Bless you, bless you, all of you pretty girls
Watching and waiting there for meI think about your pale arms waving
When I see the caps upon the green
And the rocking roller-coaster oceanThink about you every night when I'm fathoms asleep
And in my dreams
We are rocking in a similar motionBless you, bless you, all of you pretty girls
Village and city girls by the quayside
Bless you, bless you, all of you pretty girls
Watching and waiting by the seaBless you, bless you, all of you pretty girls
Quiet or witty girls by the quayside

Bless you, bless you, all of you pretty girls
Watching and waiting there for meI think about the salt sea rolling
Down in pearly tears upon your cheeks
Just like the day the harbor pulled awayI think about your warm white sheets unfolding
The more I have to drink
The more that I can think to sayDo something for me, boys
If I should die at sea, boys
Write a little note, boys
Set it off afloat, sayingBless you, bless you, all of you pretty girls
Village and city girls by the quayside
Bless you, bless you, all of you pretty girls
Watching and waiting by the seaBless you, bless you, all of you pretty girls
Quiet or witty girls by the quayside
Bless you, bless you, all of you pretty girls
Watching and waiting there for meBless you, bless you, all of you pretty girls
Village and city girls by the quayside
Bless you, bless you, all of you pretty girls
Watching and waiting by the sea

XTC were an influential rock band (starting out as a post-punk outfit but eventually developing into a sound that was a mix of new wave and alternative/college rock) which formed Swindon, England in 1972. For most of their career, the band consisted of Andy Partridge (vocals, guitar), Colin Moulding (vocals, bass) and Dave Gregory (guitar, keyboards). Gregory replaced founding keyboardist Barry Andrews in 1979 and left himself in 1999.
