All Your Women Things Lyrics

All your women things
All your frilly things
Scattered 'round my room
Right where you left them
When you left them
Scattered 'round my roomAll your hardness
All your softness
And your mercyAll your bridges and bras
Your cotton
And gauze
All your buckles and straps
Releases and traps
All your screws
And false nails
Oriental winks
And egyptian veilsOh all of these things
I gathered them
And I made a dolly

I made a dolly
A spread-eagle dolly
Out of your frilly thingsWhy couldn't I have loved you
This tenderly
When you were here
In the flesh
So tenderlyHow could I ignore
Your left breast
Your right breastHow could I ignore
Your hardness
Your softness
And your mercyWell it's been seven years
And the thought of your name
Still makes me
Weak in the kneesHow could I ignore
Your left breast
Your right breast

Bill Callahan, born in Silver Spring, Maryland. Callahan followed the lo-fi genre of underground rock, with homemade tape-albums recorded on four track tape recorders. Later he signed a record contract with the label drag city. Callahan started out as a highly experimental artist, utilizing sub-standard instruments and recording equipment. His reason for using the lo-fi approach was not so much an aesthetic choice, rather it came from his lack of knowledge of recording studios, and fear of giving up control to professional engineers.
