Alone I Remember Lyrics

I've been walking down this road
With a suitcase full of dreams
I've seen my demons come and go
To show me what I needMadness, walking dynamite
Been dancing on the edge
They got me by the fuse
Smiling with a matchI wanted love, I wanted life
Been striving for a new direction
I wanted out, I wanted more
I wanted to forget the damage left behindBut I recall the dream I had
When I kept moving on
Can't stand to rememberI recall
No turning back
Now I'm moving on
Alone I rememberRaise your head
Got stars above and emptiness below
Think of what you'd never had
And would have never knownYou wanna turn your back on me

Condemn this pleasure dome
Make sure you won't regret
Mistaking friend for foe, noYou're at the gates,
You re on the edge,
I've seen them falling back to nowhere,
You re of the red, out of your head,
And you ll wish you haven t seen it allI recall the dream I had
When I kept moving on
Can't stand to remember
I recall
No turning back
Now I'm moving on
Alone I rememberOh and I recall I used to have a dream
I won't forget that moment of gloryBut I recall the dream I had
When I kept moving on
Can't stand to remember
I recall
No turning back
Now I'm moving on
Alone I rememberI recall the dream I had...

Avantasia, from Germany, is the side-project of Edguy singer Tobias Sammet, founded in 1999. Two concept albums were released (The Metal Opera, The Metal Opera Pt. II), their structures similar to that of an opera. Both can be classified as power metal and/or symphonic metal. After the second album, Sammet announced that there would not be any more Avantasia albums. However, in January 2008 a third album was released, titled The Scarecrow. On November 16th 2007 two 6-track albums Lost in space Part 1 and Lost in space Part 2 were released. On April 2nd 2010 two new full-length albums were released, The Wicked Symphony and Angel Of Babylon, completing the Scarecrow Trilogy. In March 2011 the first Avantasia live CD and DVD called The Flying Opera were released. The contents were based on the footage taken during The Scarecrow tour in 2008, recorded on Wacken Open Air (Germany) and Masters of Rock (Vizovice, Czech Republic) music festivals.
