Am I Expecting Too Much Lyrics

Am I expecting too much?
Am I expecting too much?I felt the thrill of your warm embrace
Now I can't look into another face
You said just friends we'll always be
And yet, from time to time you make love to meHour after hour, night and day
I just can't tear my heart away
I'd love to go out and make a scene
But I'm ... and tired by your love ...
Am I expecting too much
When I expect to be loved by you
Am I expecting too much
When I expect to be loved by youCrippled my soul with your hit and run
Though sometimes it was lots of fun
Taking my body ... through the motions
Then you go to follow the sunYou had your problems, I know you do
But I'm the man that understands youAnd give that look of love that's in your eyes
Am I expecting too much
When I expect to be loved by you

Am I expecting too much
When I expect your love to be true
Am I expecting too much
When I expect to be loved by you
Am I expecting too much
When I expect your love to be true
