Amongst Butterflies Lyrics

Sunny sand we ran along
Everyday began upon
The summer's kiss of love and adventureAnd every dune that we fell into
Left a mark upon us too
Etched forever as a moment we remember
And we rememberThe empty woods where we play
Every hour of every day
The holidays went on foreverAnd in the woods was a soldier's tomb
The ghost of which looked over you
God was there amongst the trees
Felt His whisper as the summer's breezeAnd every night and every day
I learned to love it in a special way
As I remember what it's like
To walk amongst butterflies, butterflies
Flying higher, butterflies, butterfliesAnd in the woods was a soldier's tomb
The ghost of which looked over you
God was there amongst the trees
Felt His whisper as the summer's breezeAnd every night and every day

Life touched my soul that way
And I remember what it's like
To walk amongst butterflies
Butterflies, butterflies

Paul Weller (born 25 May 1958) is an English singer / songwriter, leader of two successful bands: The Jam and The Style Council. In England, he is recognised as something of a national institution yet, because much of his songwriting is rooted in English culture, he has remained essentially a national rather than an international star. Weller's eleventh studio album, Sonik Kicks, was released on 19 March 2012. The Green Songfacts reports that it was recorded in Weller’s own Black Barn Studios in Ripley, Surrey, with co-producer Simon Dine and engineer Charles Rees.
