Amp Crackle Lyrics

Come in close, don't you leave behind
just shut the door as you roll with me
way below but building now
highest of skies and in between
you know that skin will crawl and eyes will burn
as the guilty plead their case
but the moon will rise and tides will turn
as I'm left to find my real place
So I've gotta go and go and not look back
circulated beats on the title track
heading round in circles like a spin top now
cruising round the city with my windows right down
so with the music in your life you'll be sailing
and all the money in your bank you're not saving
getting it done you know I'm not lazy
getting it on with my skinny jean lady
we are not flying out to Tokyo

and we're not talking about New York city
we're reaching down and we're pulling up soul
so get in line if you want to be a passenger.

Brisbane based Cheap Fakes are a seven piece band whose sound is not confined by the limitations of styles or genres. Predominantly steeped in off beat guitars and catchy melodies, the band have been performing their fusion of funk, dub, reggae and dance music to captivated audiences since 2009.

Cheap Fakes have quickly become one of Brisbane’s most hard working live acts, performing approximately 60 gigs in their first six months of inception. Packing venues across town with their inimitable sound, the band are regular party favourites at venues such as Lock ‘n’ Load, The JOYnt, Step Inn, The Globe and The Zoo. Proving to be one of Brisbane’s most diverse live acts, Cheap Fakes also secured residencies at the likes of Conrad Treasury Premier’s Bar and Jupiters Casino Poolside.

July 2010 saw the release of Cheap Fakes highly anticipated debut album, ‘Stones and Sticks’. Recorded and produced by frontman Hayden Andrews, the album showcases the bands diversity, while at the same time creates a complete album that is engaging, uplifting and most importantly great to dance to.

The release of Stones and Sticks saw Cheap Fakes embark on their first tour, including a string of shows in North Queensland and Sydney. The interstate audiences embraced Cheap Fakes unique sound and welcomed them back without hesitation.

With an extensive catalogue of songs, the band is already in the pre-production stage of their follow up album and are planning to spend the next few months touring nationally and internationally with their Stones and Sticks release.
