An Old Memory Found It's Way Back Lyrics

I thought I had driven you out of my mind
When I crossed that bridge on memory lane and burned it one last time
I told myself it's over and I'm finally free
But just when I thought I had buried your memory
It shows up just like a bad pennyAn' old memory found it's way back home again
Old feelings that I thought I'd lost have found their way back in
Like an old dog that you drop off just out side of town
Uninvited coming back anyhow
An' old memory found it's way back home againI swept every room when I cleaned house
Tore up your old love letters and threw all of your pictures out
But I can't throw away what I can't see
I guess I fooled myself into believing
Forgetting you was gonna be easyAn old memory found it's way back home again
Old feelings that I thought I'd lost have found their way back in
Like an old dog that you drop off just out side of town
Uninvited coming back anyhow
An old memory found it's way back home againWhy can't I keep your memory away
It's like a fire I can't put out

A cold that I can't shakeAn' old memory found it's way back home again
Old feelings that I thought I'd lost have found their way back in
Like an old dog that you drop off just out side of town
Uninvited coming back anyhow
An' old memory found it's way back home again
Yeah, an old memory found it's way back home again
