Anchor Lyrics

The anchor is a kickstand
so you're going down with me
To the wrong side of the quicksand
And our flashlight destinyYou can be the walker
Cos I'm gonna be your wire
You can be the ugly truth
Cos I'm gonna be your liarstill the future
lit up so bright for all to see
I can't look now
Cos you're all the same
You're all the same to meup and away
up And awayThe anchor is a kickstand
so you're going down with me
To the wrong side of the quicksand
And our flashlight destinyit's all wrong We tripped along
so much worse off for it
And only God can help the one
who put the magnets in your Headup and away

up and away with youIf I could just get up
I'd be fine
if I could just get up

Letters to Cleo were an alternative rock band from Boston, Massachusetts (although they originally started out as a ska band). The band was made up of members Michael Eisenstein, Kay Hanley, Stacy Jones, Greg McKenna, Scott Riebling, and Tom Polce. Their name came from the fact that Hanley had a pen pal named Cleo when she was younger, although the letters she wrote would often be returned. Hanley kept them in a box under her bed marked "Letters to Cleo", and happened to stumble across the box as the band was attempting to think of a name for itself.
