Angel Mom Lyrics

Today on my birthday
You were home when I arrived
You were standing in the doorway
When I pulled into the driveAn excitement came over me
And I rushed out of the car
And I jumped up to be carried in your armsI haven't felt that way
Since I was a child
A grown woman jumping up and down
Like I was a childThe dream went dark when my eye looked
And Id remembered that you'd gone
And I struggled there to fall back asleep
And I remembered that you'd goneAnd my grief was deep and my joy was happy
Cause you visited me from beyond
On my birthday
You visited me from beyondI haven't felt that way
Since I was a child
A grown woman jumping up and down
Like I was a childMy love

My loves missing
My loves far gone
Where will I find itMy heart
My hearts rambling
My hearts far gone
Where will I find itHey hey hi do you hear me
I feel somewhere you are here
For when I talk to you I intensely feel youre listening
My only wish I wish that I could hear your voice
Angel momLater that day driving in my car
I turned on the radio
We were watching the graveyard stones pass by
And the songs they come and go
And the DJ played the song called enemy
It was a song you know I wrote
On my birthday
You were telling me that you knowI haven't felt that way
Since I was a child
A grown woman jumping up and down
Like I was a childMy love
My loves missing
My loves far gone
Where will I find itMy heart
My hearts rambling
My hearts far gone
Where will I find itMy love
My loves missing
My loves far gone
Where will I find itMy heart
My hearts rambling
My hearts far gone
Where will I find itHey hey hi do you hear me
I feel somewhere you are here
For when I talk to you I intensely feel you are listening
My only wish I wish that I could hear your voice

Jesca Hoop has lived all over the map, and her rich life experience is reflected in her distinctive voice and natural gift for inventive song craft. Hoop learned to sing at an early age, harmonising with her musical Mormon family in northern California. She began writing highly idiosyncratic songs at the age of 14 to keep her company on her long walks to school. At 16, Hoop broke away from her strict upbringing and began what she calls her 'life as a racoon', off the grid & close to nature.
