Anytime Lisa Lyrics

Anytime Lisa was what the guys named her
You could have her tonight
All you had to do was claim her
There was nothing to stop them from taking her out
Night after night they kissed her and tossed her about
You could prove you're a man (prove you're a man)
They said that anyone can (anyone can)
So everybody took a piece of Anytime Lisa
And Anytime Lisa
Anytime Lisa just couldn't refuse them
A girl wants love, and guys just abuse them
To be in their arms beats being alone
Still it wasn't like having someone of her own
You could prove you're a man (prove you're a man)
They said that anyone can (anyone can)

So everybody took a piece of Anytime Lisa
Uh Anytime Lisa
Uh, phone rings, it's another voice (another voice)
Brief flings, but what's her choice
She's by herself and there's no one else...Lisa
Ahhh, Anytime Lisa, I'm not like the others
Please understand me
I don't want to be a one-night lover
There's something inside you that I want to touch
Girl you just gotta trust me, I want you so much
No need to prove I'm a man (prove I'm a man)
I'm just your number one fan, yeah (number one fan)
I want more than just a piece of Anytime Lisa
Uh, Anytime Lisa
Anytime Lisa, when the girl is dangerous
You can rely one to another
Or you will have to untouched by other men
Oh, oh, oh oh oh Anytime Lisa, ooh ooh ooh ooh
Anytime, baby, Anytime Lisa

Was (Not Was) is an eccentric pop group founded by David Weiss (a.k.a. David Was) and Don Fagenson (a.k.a. Don Was). (Don Was is also a famous producer, who has worked with The B-52's, Rolling Stones and many other artists.) Weiss and Fagenson were childhood friends who grew up together in suburban Detroit. Due largely to Fagenson's poverty, they decided to form Was (Not Was) in 1979. The name of the band was derived from Fagenson's son, who enjoyed contradicting words such as 'Blue' with 'Not Blue'.
