Are You There (with Another Guy) Lyrics

I'm standing on your doorstep
And I don't know what to do
Should I ring your doorbell or just walk away
My friends all say that you were never true
I'm hiding in the shadowsI hear the music coming out of your radio
Are you there with another guy instead of me
Yeah, yeah, yeah, oh
I hear the laughter and there's something I've got to know
Are you there with another guy instead of me
Yeah, yeah, yeahI only know I love you and I couldn't say goodbye
So if there's another, I don't want to know
If you should go, I would surely die
I'm hiding in the shadowsAnd I see two silhouettes in back of your window shade
Are you there with another guy when I am gone
Yeah, yeah, yeah
I can't believe you'd break the promises that you made
If you're there with another guy, I can't go on, oh no
Yeah, yeah, yeahYou would never leave me, hurt me or deceive me

I'm a fool to doubt you, worry so about you
Love requires faith, I've got a lot of faith but
I hear the music coming out of your radioYeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeahI only know I love you, and I couldn't say goodbye
So if there's another, I don't want to know
If you should go, I would surely die
I'm hiding in the shadowsYeah, in the shadows
Really plotting, hiding in the shadows, oh yeah
I'm hiding in the shadows, oh yeahPity the girl, pity, pity
Pity the girl, pity
Pity the girl, pity pity
Pity the girlI hear the music coming out of your radio
Are you there with another guy instead of me
Oh no, don't tell me, yeah, yeah, yeah
No I can't believe it
I hear your laughter and there's something I've got to know
Are you there with another guy instead of me
Please don't say, yeah, yeah, yeah
It's a pityI hear the music coming
Out of your radio
Pity the girl
Pity the girl
Pity the girlNo, I can't believe it
I hear the laughter
And there's something I got to know
Pity the girl
Pity the girl
Pity the girlYeah baby
Without my love, I pity the girl
Pity the girl
Pity the girl
Your radio
Pity the girl
Oh yeah, yeahPity the girl
Pity the girl
Pity the girl
Pity the girl

Luther Ronzoni Vandross (April 20, 1951 - July 1, 2005) was an american soul and rnb singer whose career spanned four decades.

In the 70s, he worked as a backing singer Chic and for David Bowie (on the Young Americans album). He later found success as a solo artist with Superstar and A House Is Not A Home.

In the 80s, Vandross was a vocalist on early Change singles (Searching), whilst continuing his solo career with such releases as "Never Too Much", "Power Of Love/Love Power", "If Only For One Night", "Here And Now".

In the 90s, he was more famous for duets with Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey (amongst others), than for his solo work.

It was an ongoing battle with his weight that may have ultimately proved his undoing. He suffered a stroke in 2003, from which he never really recovered, and died in 2005.

During his career, he sold 25 million albums and won eight Grammy awards including Best Male R&B Vocal Performance four times. He won four Grammy awards in 2004, including the Grammy Award for Song of the Year for the track "Dance With My Father," co-written with Richard Marx.
