Ashes to Ashes Lyrics

Do you remember a guy that's been in such an early song
I heard a rumor from ground control
Oh, no don't say it's true
They got a message from the action man
"I'm happy hope you're happy too"
I've loved all, I've needed love, sordid details followingThe shrieking of nothing is killing us
Visions of Jap girls in synthesis
And I ain't got no money and I ain't got no hair
And I'm hoping to kick but this planet is glowingAshes to ashes, funk to funky
We know major Tom's a junky
Strung out on heavens
High leading an all time lowTime and again I tell myself I'll stay clean
Tonight but these little green
Wheels are following me, oh, no not again
I'm stuck with a valuable friend
I'm happy hope you're happy too
One flash of light but no smoking pistolI've never done good things
I've never done bad things

I never did anything out of the blueWant an ax to break the ice, I wanna come down right nowAshes to ashes, funk to funky
We know major Tom's a junky
Strung out on heavens
High leading an all time lowMy mama said, to get things done, you better not mess with major Tom
My mama said, to get things done, you better not mess with major Tom
My mama said, to get things done, you better not mess with major Tom
My mama said, to get things done, you better not mess with major Tom
My mama said, to get things done, you better not mess with major Tom

Three years later, Keenan offered Howerdel, who was looking for lodging, a room in his North Hollywood home. This provided Howerdel the opportunity to play demos of his music for Keenan. Pleased with what he heard, Keenan remarked, "I can hear myself singing .
