Back Home Years Ago Lyrics

Summer of love came and it went
We played with our lives before they were spent
We were young and unafraid
So alive togetherWe gave ourselves to giving in
And separated from within
Our only fear was growing old
We swore that we would neverAnd I remember how it used to be
Oh, I remember you were here with meSummer of love came and was gone
'Cause we lifted up and tried to hold on
To memories of what we were
The times we shared were goldenAnd I remember how it used to be
Oh, I remember you were here with meI remember cold Novembers
And when we used to laugh together
And I remember youHere in my life
You were always
Here in my arms
You were always
Here in my heart

Those days are still aliveI remember cold Novembers
And when we used to laugh together
And I rememberAnd I remember you
And I remember you

Oleander is a post-grunge band from Sacramento, California. Its name is derived from the poisonous wildflower oleander. Oleander was formed by Fred Nelson Jr. (drums), Doug Eldridge (bass guitar), Ric Ivanisevich (guitar) and Thomas Flowers (vocals, guitar) in the mid-90s. Their debut was Oleander, an EP released on Fine Records in 1996, which they followed with the full-length album Shrinking the Blob in 1997. The song "Down When I'm Loaded" became a regional hit, and Oleander signed with Universal Records.
