Back In Your Arms Lyrics

When I first met you baby
heaven knows I was out in the cold
with my suit case, in my hand
and no place to go, but here's what you done
you took me in, even when you wasn't able
you pawn your best clothes
so we could have food on the table
I wish I was back
(Wish I was back in your arms)
in your arms again baby
(Wish I was back in your arms)
for I would never find another woman like you no where
but look here
you know every time I see you with him
it just tear me up inside
knowing that he got everything, everything I once had

it just make me wanna break down and cry
but I should have thought about it
before I left, I can't blame you baby
I brought it all on myself
and thats why I wish I was back
(Wish I was back in your arms)
lord have mercy
in your arms one more time
(wish I was back in your arms)
oh what would I do, what would I do
to see your smiling face one more time
ohhh if I was back, yeah
(Wish I was back in your arms)
in your arms one more time baby
(Wish I was back in your arms)
heaven knows, heaven knows
I won't make that same mistake no more
oh i wish i was back
(Wish I was back in your arms)
in your arms again baby
(Wish I was back in your arms)
Ohhhhhhhhhhh…

Aided immeasurably by the excellent studio bands backing him at the Stax Studios in Memphis, Tennessee, and the Fame Studio in Muscle Shoals Alabama, Pickett scored a series of R&B and pop hits on Atlantic Records between 1963 and 1972 that included "In the Midnight Hour...
