Back to Our Innocence Lyrics

I want my life to be more like a symphony
With chords encased, and scores of grace that rivals symmetry
I want my chance to behold the truth and watch it unfold
As complex equations are worked out with patience
Where angles are right and sides are adjacentAll our lives we try to find a way back to our innocenceI want my life to be more than just lucid dreams
So when I wake up I can take us on journeys that only a child would think of
To the depths of wonderful places
But we're invincible and nothing can take usAll our lives we try to find a way back to our innocence
All our lives we try to find a way back to our innocenceI want my life to be more like a symphony
With chords encased, and scores of grace that rivals symmetry
I want my life to be more than just lucid dreams
So when I wake up I can take us on journeys that only a child would think ofAll our lives we try to find a way back to our innocence
We realize that life in all of time are more than coincidence

Self Against City is a pop-rock band from Sacramento, California. They formed in 2004 and are signed to Drive-Thru/Rushmore Records. For some people, the main goals are a pimped out ride and a pimped out life. Ask Self Against City lead singer Jonathan Temkin about his goals and he tells a very different story. “People are searching for something to make themselves complete,” he says. “If we can inspire people with our music, I can die a happy person.” Temkin may be on to something, especially in light of Self Against City's revelatory new Drive-Thru/Rushmore CD Telling Secrets to Strangers.
