Backslide Lyrics

Los Angeles take your dreams away
Burnin' on the ground
At the end of the day it's your life, your loss
If you can't turn the clock aroundI said, Oh, my God, you can have her for that one
So you better not miss a shot
You're letting yourself get into all kinds of danger
Soon enough, you're gonna get caughtThey had a feeling
It was like you had to prove you're one in a million
And on top of that junk he's been dealing
This time the drugs are you and they'll come through
It ain't gonna stop 'til they get what they wantAnd I say, Nobody knows me, I'm all alone
I say, I, I gotta go
It's a Hollywood bus stop and the party's over
I, I gotta goJohn was havin' his homeboy down, so he waited for a ride
Then waited to confide in Hollywood's concert backslide
With affordable lives and a sunroof, nestled among the filth
Frequencies and bad intentions, gotta take it for what it's worthAnd I say, They had a feeling
It was like you had to prove you're one in a million

And on top of that junk he's been dealing
This time the drugs are you and they'll come through
It ain't gonna stop 'til they get what they wantAnd I say, Nobody knows me, I'm all alone
I say, I, I gotta go
It's a Hollywood bus stop and the party's over
I, I gotta goHave you ever been haunted by your past?
And it will never let you go
Well, never ever, ever let you go
No, I said, they'll never ever, ever let you goNobody knows me, I'm all alone
I say, I, I gotta go
It's a Hollywood bus stop and the party's over
I, I gotta goI say, I, I gotta go
I, I gotta go
I, I gotta go
I said, Yeah

Rancid is a punk rock band which formed in Berkeley, California, United States in 1991. The band consists of Tim "Lint" Armstrong (vocals, guitar), Lars Frederiksen (guitar), Matt Freeman (bass) and Brendan Stieneckert (drums). The band has released seven albums: "Rancid" (1993), "Let's Go" (1994), "...And Out Come the Wolves" (1995), "Life Won't Wait" (1998), "Rancid" (2000), "Indestructible" (2003) and "Let the Dominoes Fall" (2009). The band originally consisted of Armstrong, Freeman (both former members of Operation Ivy) and drummer Brett Reed, with Frederiksen joining in 1993. Reed left in 2006 and was replaced by Stieneckert.

To date, Rancid has released seven studio albums, one split album, one compilation, two extended plays, and a series of live online-only albums, and has been featured on a number of compilation albums. The band has independently sold over four million records worldwide,[4] making it one of the most successful independent punk groups of all time. The band rose to fame in 1994 with its second studio album, Let's Go, featuring the single "Salvation". In the following year, Rancid released its highly successful album ...And Out Come the Wolves, which produced its best-known songs "Roots Radicals", "Ruby Soho" and "Time Bomb", and was certified gold and platinum by the RIAA, selling over one million copies in the United States alone. Its next four albums, Life Won't Wait, Rancid, Indestructible and Let the Dominoes Fall, were also critically acclaimed, though not as successful as ...And Out Come the Wolves. Rancid is currently working on an eighth studio album, which is said to be recorded in September 2011, and expected to be released in 2012.
