Bad Habits Lyrics

I get all my bad habits watchin' you, it's true
Well, I wish that things were so different
Change it myself, it's what I'll doBut, I can't figure it out, yet
Just how to make it perfect for you
But, I'm closer than I was yesterday
Yeah, I'm closer than I was yesterdayThey say that life is for learning
Well, teach to me to live while I'm here
Messages twisted and turning
What should I give, make it clear'Cause I can't figure it out, yet
No, well I can't figure it out, yet
Just how to make it perfect for you
But, I'm closer than I was yesterday
Yeah, I'm closer than I was yesterdayDon't you know there's no difference? I'm not the same
I'm only here to be with you
And now I'm closing the distance, dropping the claim
Trading the past for something new, something newWhy would you work without living
Spending your soul, what's it worth?
Well, I hope you make it to heaven

Waiting for life here on earth'Cause I can't figure it out, yet
No, well I can't figure it out, yet
No, I can't figure it out, yet
Just how to make it perfect for youBut I'm closer than I was
Closer than I was
Yeah, I'm closer than I was yesterday
Yeah, I'm closer than I was yesterday

A gifted artist in every sense of the word - writer, singer, musician and performer - Michael Tolcher deftly blends unfailing melodic and organic pop sensibilities with a deep understanding of soul and urban grooves drawn from his Southern upbringing. Hailing from Lovejoy, GA, Michael began his musical education while singing in the church choir. However, Michael's greatest childhood aspiration was to be an Olympic athlete. He was well on his way, running track at Georgia Tech, until an injury sidelined his career and caused him to question what he wanted out of life.
