Balloon Maker Lyrics

He was a great balloon maker
The balloons were never known for speed
There's no way that you'll get sweet
You asked me to waste some timeCome out to see the sun, you're all we've got
But I said, "I think there's more of them like us"
And he said, "You might be right we'll find them in time
Somewhere" I had a dream, yeahHe was a great balloon maker
Then they outlawed all balloons
He packed up and put his things away
He asked me to waste some timeCome out to see the sun, you're all we've got
But I said, "I think there's more of them like us"
And he said, "You might be right we'll find them in time
Somewhere" I had a dream

Midlake is an American rock band from Denton, Texas, that formed in 1999. The band first gained popularity in Europe. Midlake began in 1999 by a group of jazz students at the University of North Texas. The original lineup consisted of Tim Smith (vocals, guitars, keyboards), McKenzie Smith (drums), Paul Alexander (bass), Eric Nichelson (guitar), and Evan Jacobs (keyboards). Their initial work (under the working name The Cornbread All-Stars) consisted of funk/jazz explorations heavily influenced by Herbie Hancock.
