Bare Necessities Lyrics

I've been laying low
Living in the shadows
Spending time alone
Conversations with the wallHanging on
I'm just trying to matter
And I remain
Trying to make some sense of it allI've been here before I'm familiar with the pain
But I ain't running no more there's one thing changed
Ain't going down this time
This time I ain't going downLike an undertow
I feel the promise of the nighttime
But I've been down that road
And my search came to an endI hit the motherload
Enough blues for a lifetime
Now I'm digging deep inside
Trying to find my way back againYou know you've entered the danger zone
When you look in the eyes and there's no one home
Ain't going down this time

This time I ain't going downDeep in the night
I miss a woman's touch
The fire burns strong
And I'm drawn to the flameBut I pay the price
When I get caught up in the heartbeat
And passion flows
UnrestrainedNo one left to blame I'm faced with the truth
And it's all too plain when there's nothing left to lose
Ain't going down this time
This time I ain't goin

Louis Armstrong (1901-1971) was a trumpet player, singer, and bandleader, and is widely regarded as one of the most influential artists in the history of jazz. Armstrong was born and brought up in New Orleans, a culturally diverse town with a unique musical mix of creole, ragtime, marching bands, and blues. Although from an early age he was able to play music professionally, he didn't travel far from New Orleans until 1922, when he went to Chicago to join his mentor, King Oliver.
