Beautiful Regret Lyrics

I missed the ride
The ride of my life with you,
Drove away my dream come true
On a night just like tonight...
And I missed the boat
Let you sail so far away from me,
All over that big blue sea
With an ocean between you and my pride...
And now that the tide's rolled in
This vision of you
Is breaking my heart now
My beautiful regret
You're stained across my mind
When it was just us
Yeah it was for forever
You were in love
And I was the fool in line
To get my turn to crumble and to fall

Mess up and miss it all...
Awww miss it all...
I miss your eyes
The way they spoke to me,
So alive you saw everything
And how was I so blind?
And lord what am I to do
With these visions of you
That's breaking my heart now
My beautiful regret
You're stained across my mind
When it was just us
Yeah it was for forever
You were in love
And i was the fool in line
To get my turn to crumble and to fall
Oh to mess up and miss it all
Sure messed up and missed it all
Ooh I missed it all
Beautiful regret
(continues and then goes into instrumental and 'Slide on over here'.)

Steve Azar was born and raised in Greenville, Mississippi at the entrance to the Mississippi Delta. His mother was raised above the family grocery store located on Highway 61 in Clarksdale, MS near the infamous “Crossroads”. “The Crossroads” is the intersection of Route 61 and Route 49, or the 61/49 split as they call it there, in Clarksdale, Mississippi, made famous in the Robert Johnson song, “Cross Road Blues”. This is where Delta Blues legend Robert Johnson supposedly sold his soul to the Devil in exchange for mastery of the blues, or so the story goes.
