Bedtime Story Lyrics

Love can be so hard to find
Dreams are never free
Time runs out forever
Like sand into the sea
We're so lucky, you and I
And night's the place to beSo, tell me a bedtime story
And touch away our cares
Make a world for us
And take me there
Just tell me a bedtime story
Of lovers and of friends
Make a world for both of us
That never endsErase the thoughts that crowd my mind
Chase my fears away
Promise that tomorrow
Will be better than today
Oh, we're so lucky, you and I
Don't ever go awayJust tell me a bedtime story

And touch away our cares
Make a world for us
And take me there
Just tell me a bedtime story
Of lovers and of friends
Make a world for both of us
That never endsLove, work those miracles
That only love can do
Make the cold world warm again
Just hold me, hold meTell me a bedtime story
And touch away our cares
Make a world for us
And take me there
Just tell me a bedtime story
Of lovers and of friends
Make a world for both of us
That never ends
That never ends

McGovern was born in Youngstown, Ohio to Mary Rita Welsh and James Terrence McGovern.[1] She has Irish ancestry.[2] As a child, McGovern would listen to her father's barbershop quartet rehearse in their home. She was told by her elders that she began singing at the tender age of three, and would sometimes sing herself to sleep with things she heard on the radio. She decided at age eight that she wanted to be a professional singer; and she developed a taste for various types of music, including jazz, showtunes, oldies, and folk. Her influences include Barbra Streisand and Dionne Warwick.
