Been On Lyrics

Yea (yea)
Rappers try to brag about accomplishments
But nothing you've been droppin' yet astonishes
Yea (yea)
Next shit I'm about to say is obvious
But criticism's worth some more than compliments
Yea yea (yea)
We livin' at a different speed
Tryna sprout a money tree
We started up with just a seed
Always working, never hindered by a lil fatigue
Rappin' in arenas,
I'm still playin' in a different league
Yea (yea)
You still playing wiffle ball
Droppping opportunities
I'm picking up a different call
Holdin' out for bigger cheques

To lift us all
Never kept a safety net to catch us,
even if I fall
Rather risk it all than play it safe
You like to sprinkle salt and play your hate
My team can eat (a) shared plate
I had the black on black
I swear you're late[Hook]
Everyday I got some fly shit on
Keepin' all black outfit on
I already bagged most the chicks that you out here tryin to get on
You just catching up to what I been on
Yea that's what I been onI see what you're tryin to do
That's not even new
That's that shit I been on
All these girls you see around
I already took them down
That's that shit I been on
That's that shit I been on
That's that shit I been onI been thinking forward tho
Thinking quick and making plans
Y'all be thinking sorta slow
You be thinking more bitches
I be thinking more dough
Showed em all I do this shit
But trust me I got more to show
Yea yea
I'm just getting started now
All that swerve n I spill my bourbon, brody that's a party foul
Rappers try to swear they're cool
Really? I'm like ''hardly pal''
Black on black with hair slicked back
Boy I got the hardest style
And I'm always snatchin' chicks
Flier than Aladdin's whips
Haters on the sideline bitter
Hella fuckin mad he's rich
Took your darling off your arm
Now she just wannabe daddy's bitch
They can't even find me where I'm chillin like my addy switched
Yea (yea)
Breakin' rules, we all bent 'em
Dreamin' bout these ems, told my team let's all get 'em
Make a classic song last as long as raw denim
Every track's a problem, what I spit is all venom
Like, yea[Hook]

G-Eazy has an agenda. For the last couple of years he's been trying to finish school while building up a grassroots fan-base across the US. Schooled in the bay, tested in New Orleans, G isn't a stranger to paying dues. His live shows have turned heads from the smallest of Midwest clubs all the way up to arenas on dates with Lil Wayne, Big Sean, and Drake, among others.

Without label support G has trekked across the US on multiple tours breaking hearts with his James Dean meets hip-hop vibe and unforgettable live shows. It's not hype. It's not a hit. It's not an image. It's all of the above, the product of diligence that only a true fan understands; G reinterprets what he loves, not what everyone wants to hear, but in 2011 its looking like those two paths are starting to merge.

Gʼs been a fixture on the local New Orleans rap scene for a few years and more recently in the music blogosphere, but in the last few months his popularity has surged and as his national profile has grown exponentially. His latest mixtape, The Endless Summer, produced Runaround Sue, who's sun stroked throwback video garnered over 100,000 plays on Youtube in the first week. But it all comes back to the live show, one New Orleans music critic summed it up... “the young crowd was reaching the levels of mass hysteria reserved for the 50s and 60s rock ʻnʼ roll legends to whom G-Eazy has been paying so much homage...”

PRESS

“In a style that is very much his own, G-Eazy's played shows with Girl Talk and
Chiddy Bang, and toured with the likes of megastars Lil' Wayne, Big Sean, and
(juuust right?) Drake."
-San Francisco Bay Guardian

"He has that je ne sais quoi that makes someone a "firework.” His interactions with
the crowd were seamless and his actual performance was perfection."
-Earmilk

"G-Eazy came back from the tour knowing how to format a show, work a crowd, and
develop an instant rapport with the audience."
–East Bay Express
