Before You Leave Lyrics

Tell me that you love me one more time
Before you leave, before you leave
Wrap your arms around me hold me tight
Before you leave, before you leaveWhisper to me softly in my ear
Before you leave, before you leave
Tell me that you'll miss me when you're not here
Before you leave, before you leaveWhen you get to where you're going
Would you call and let me know you're okay?
'Cause I'll be thinking 'bout you
Wont you ease my mind
And let me know you're safe? The weather's turning, don't forget your coat
Before you leave, before you leave
Listen close, there's something you should know
Before you leave, before you leaveThe darkness that shadowed you was mine
It was never yours at all
And the light behind your eyes that used to shine
Gets brighter as you walk awayTell me that you love me one more time
Before you leave, before you leave

Wrap your arms around me hold me tight
Before you leave, before you leave

Mary Gauthier (born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1962) is an American country and folk singer/songwriter. Given up at birth by a mother she never knew, Mary was adopted. At age 15, she ran away from home and stole her parents' car, and spent the next several years in detox, halfway houses, and living with friends; she spent her 18th birthday in jail. These experiences provided fodder for her songwriting later on (particularly her song "Drag Queens in Limousines").
