Before the World Was Round Lyrics

I remember when
You said the world must be flat
Because you'd fallen off the edge
There you were just floatin'
Holdin' on to my hand
So safe and self-assured
An' it's not easy
Watchin' you walk out on me
An' simple dreams from way back when
The view was so much better then
Before the world was round. An' I remember when
You said there must be a God
Because he answered you
And so I found you floatin'
Reachin' out for my love
And how I sheltered you
An' it's not easy
Watchin' you just walk away

From hopes that seem more tangible
An' dreams were far more plentiful
Before the world was round. You have learnt your independence
All too soon your science grew
An' you've turned your fine attendance
On to someone new.INSTRUMENTAL

Clifford Thomas Ward - Born 10 February 1944, Stourport-on-Severn, Worcestershire — 18 December 2001 Clifford T. Ward typified the early 70s bedsitter singer-songwriter with a series of albums that were at best delightful and at worst mawkish. Ward left grammar school before A-levels to work as a clerk, but by 1962 was fronting local beat group Cliff Ward and the Cruisers. The group changed their name to Martin Raynor and the Secrets and made their recording debut for EMI Records in 1965, before recording several more tracks as the Secrets for CBS Records.
