Better Off This Way Lyrics

I always catch you when you fall,
And I am always there when life's mountains seem too tall,
And I give you space, but I always hear your call,
Maybe I'll be better after all,And you never catch me when I fall,
Oh, and you never go out of your way to make me feel beautiful,
You're my baby and I am your fool,
Maybe I'll be better without you,
Maybe I'll be better without you,
Done, giving you my heart when your heart's with someone else,
And 'cause I'm done putting you first when you only care 'bout yourself, yeah,
And I'm tired of begging you to stay,
Maybe I'll be better off this way,
Maybe I'll be better off this way,And you never catch me when I slip,
Oh, but I know tonight some other man gonna be kissin' on your lips,
That same man thinks that you're just candy on his wrist,
There's gotta be something better than this,
There's gotta be something better than this, oh,Done, giving you my heart when your heart's with someone else,
And 'cause I'm done putting you first when you only care 'bout yourself, yeah,

And I'm tired of begging you to stay,
Maybe I'll be better off this way,
Oh, 'cause I'm done giving you my heart when your heart's with someone else,
Oh, 'cause I'm done putting you first when you only care 'bout yourself, yeah,
And I'm tired of begging you to stay,
Maybe I'll be better off this way,
Maybe I'll be better off this way.

From backwoods barbecues and community gatherings; Allen Stone emerges to share personal melodies, telling his tales of life after just 24 years. Getting his start singing at his father's church in small-town America; it wasn't until later when introduced to the greats of soul music (Marvin Gaye,Aretha Franklin) and then to the confessional lyrical fashion of the 60's -70's singer/ songwriters, did music begin to ignite intense passion, eventually carrying this boy to a musical home.
