Birds Lyrics

Hey baby, baby, bring your love to me
Repeats the radio relentlessly
All day I dream a dream where feelings flee
In free formationThe sweetest sound reflects in saddened eyes
Defies description and identifies
The heart that hungers for the sudden skies
The souls migrationHow sweet to fly, to touch the sky
To feel in the flow like the one who glides there
I feel we flew, we never knew
But to know is to go when your heart resides thereI take a winter coat and walk the square
The people gather and the birds they scare
Concrete and clay conspire to cage me there
Among the lost boysDown in the streets I see the trees grow bare
Broken and battered in the thinning air
The birds are scattered and my footsteps there
I long for lost joyHow sweet to fly, to touch the sky
To feel in the flow like the one who glides there
I feel we flew, we never knew

But to know is to go when your heart resides thereHow sweet to fly, to touch the sky
To feel in the flow like the one who glides there
I feel we flew, we never knew
But to know is to go when your heart resides there

Aztec Camera was a Scottish indie pop/new wave band from Glasgow. The line-up of the band changed several times over the years, but the constant member had been guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Roddy Frame. Founding members included Campbell Owens (bass) and Dave Mulholland (drums). Ex-Bluebells bassist Craig Gannon was a member from 1983 through 1985, before joining The Smiths. Guitarist Malcolm Ross (formerly of Josef K and Orange Juice) also joined in 1983, and appeared on the Knife album.
