Black Derby Jacket Lyrics

Books on emerson books on thoreau What do you do to know who you are? And I was three thousand miles away from you But all I read was maps of the road All the while I was twenty-two You went to Upstate NxY (New York) to go to school The best way for me to drop out on tour To secure the roll with your parents I got a new perspective on you All the good and bad that we went through I never needed much, I never liked to loom I know you better than you know you 'Cause I got a new perspective on you But a gesture can get me from across the room You left in a plane, I left in a van The first night we talked until while the sun caught up Transparent people melting all around us Played nightclub house-parties and auditoriums I know you better than your new friends Saw Germany England Italy with my band I got a new perspective on you I know you better than you know you All the good and bad that we went through 'Cause I got a new perspective on you Driving 10 hours until my eyes are blurry Ford Econdlane September '93 3 packs of Winstons and a bag of seeds Tapes of "x" and a thermos of coffee 6 weeks on and 10 days off Then I go back on the road for another show This is all that I've ever done Girl I got nothing to fall back on "But I got a new perspective on you All the good and bad that we went through I know you better than you know you 'Cause I got a new perspective on you"

Rancid is a punk rock band which formed in Berkeley, California, United States in 1991. The band consists of Tim "Lint" Armstrong (vocals, guitar), Lars Frederiksen (guitar), Matt Freeman (bass) and Brendan Stieneckert (drums). The band has released seven albums: "Rancid" (1993), "Let's Go" (1994), "...And Out Come the Wolves" (1995), "Life Won't Wait" (1998), "Rancid" (2000), "Indestructible" (2003) and "Let the Dominoes Fall" (2009). The band originally consisted of Armstrong, Freeman (both former members of Operation Ivy) and drummer Brett Reed, with Frederiksen joining in 1993. Reed left in 2006 and was replaced by Stieneckert.

To date, Rancid has released seven studio albums, one split album, one compilation, two extended plays, and a series of live online-only albums, and has been featured on a number of compilation albums. The band has independently sold over four million records worldwide,[4] making it one of the most successful independent punk groups of all time. The band rose to fame in 1994 with its second studio album, Let's Go, featuring the single "Salvation". In the following year, Rancid released its highly successful album ...And Out Come the Wolves, which produced its best-known songs "Roots Radicals", "Ruby Soho" and "Time Bomb", and was certified gold and platinum by the RIAA, selling over one million copies in the United States alone. Its next four albums, Life Won't Wait, Rancid, Indestructible and Let the Dominoes Fall, were also critically acclaimed, though not as successful as ...And Out Come the Wolves. Rancid is currently working on an eighth studio album, which is said to be recorded in September 2011, and expected to be released in 2012.
