Blackout Lyrics

Keep it up, white your picket fences
Walk a line like you're weak and defenseless
Keep it up, try to blend in
Don't anything about anything, no
Keep it up, be afraid to impose
Keep it up, follow we're your crowd goes
Zip it up, shut your damn mouth
Don't do anything about anything, noThis is a sign of the times that we live in
Lay waste to the chance that we're givenBlackout, shut the whole machine down
Everybody freak out and start over
Somehow kick the crooks and thieves out
You took anything and everything you could
And gave it away
And gave it awayLive it up, party like a pop star
It doesn't matter who your family and your friends are
Give them up
You never cared about anyone, about anything, no
Live it up, buying all the hip clothes

Live it up, watching all the hit shows
Zip it up, shut your damn mouth
Don't do anything about anything, noThis is a sign of the times that we live in
Lay waste to the chance that we're givenBlackout, shut the whole machine down
Everybody freak out and start over
Somehow keep the crooks and thieves out
You took anything and everything you couldAnd I say fuck your American scene
That took my American dream
Fuck your American dream
Fuck your American dreamBlackout, shut the whole machine down
Everybody freak out and start over
Somehow kick the crooks and thieves out
You took anything and everything you could
And gave it away
And gave it away

Formed in 2012, DEVOUR THE DAY is born from the brain trust of Joey Chicago (Bass, Vocals, Songwriter) and Blake Allison (Lead singer, Guitar, Songwriter and Producer). Having much success with the band Egypt Central, Blake and Joey sought to break out on their own, writing and producing music without compromise. Joey explains, “Our lives got to a point that we had lost trust, we lost our
compassion, feeling and our way.” The water was so murky we didn’t know which way was up.” What we did know is that we should keep writing and keep fighting because that was the truth and our center.”
