Blue Chevrolet Lyrics

He's the king of the cobras, a pavement hound
He plays upon a waitress at the Space Lodge Lounge
In walks 'no shoes no service' as the plates hit the ground
Her two-weeks notice just blew into townThere goes a red-head, a legend in a blue chevroletHe cools the evening with a Pabst Blue Ribbon beer
She's chewin' gum in his right ear
Broke down in Bedrock Canyon, dropped the clutch and pressure plateYou know the red-head took two quarts
Now she's runnin' greatThere goes a red-head, a legend in a blue chevroletI went on vacation, out on Interstate 10
The heat's gettin' to ya, so's the wife and kids
He'll rise up out of the blacktop, like a pagan god
And blow on by you like some mirageThere goes a red-head, a legend in a blue chevrolet

The Beat Farmers were a cowpunk band which formed in San Diego, California, United States in 1983. For most of the band's career, its lineup consisted of Country Dick Montana (vocals, drums, guitar), Jerry Raney (guitar, vocals), Buddy Blue (guitar, vocals) and Rolle Dexter Love (bass). Blue replaced original guitarist Joey Harris, who left the band in 1986.

The band issued seven albums - "Tales of the New West" (1985), "Glad 'n' Greasy" (1986), "Van Go" (1986), "The Pursuit of Happiness" (1987), "Poor and Famous" (1989), "Viking Lullabys" (1994) and "Manifold" (1995) - before Country Dick Montana's 1995 death ended the band.
