Blue Light Boogie Lyrics

They did the boogie real slow
With the blue lights way down low
They did the boogie real slow
With the blue lights way down lowI went to a party
Was nothin there but bobby socks
Went to a party
Man you oughta seen em to reel and rockThey did the boogie real slow
With the blue lights way down low
They did the boogie real slow
With the blue lights way down lowI started rockin
Man I threw my left foot out
I started swingin
Somebody begin to shoutYou got to boogie real slow
With the blue lights way down low
You got to boogie real slow
With the blue lights way down lowThe girls and boys, they made so much noise
They even had a raid
But when the police got there all they could find

Was ice-cream and lemonadeOh, what a party
I'm so glad I didn't stay at home
Oh, what a party
They didn't treat me like I was a chaperonThey did the boogie real slow
With the blue lights way down low
They did the boogie real slow
With the blue lights way down lowI started swingin
I threw my left foot out
I started rockin
Oh and they begin to shoutYou got to boogie real slow
With the blue lights way down low
You got to boogie real slow
With the blue lights way down lowThe women had they're heads laid on their fellas' shoulders
Who were boogie-woogeyin and squeezin 'em up in the room
I couldn't see how they was dancin'
'Cuz their feet, they didn't moveOh, what a party
I'm so glad I didn't stay at home
Oh, what a party
They didn't treat me like I was a chaperonThey did the boogie real slow
With the blue lights way down low
They did the boogie real slow
With the blue lights way down low

Taj Mahal (born Henry Saint Clair Fredericks in New York City on May 17, 1942) is an American Grammy Award-winning blues musician who incorporates elements of world music into his music. A self-taught singer-songwriter and film composer who plays the guitar, banjo and harmonica (among many other instruments), Mahal has done much to reshape the definition and scope of blues music over the course of his 50 year career by fusing it with non-traditional forms, including sounds from the Caribbean, Africa and the South Pacific.
