Boiled Frogs (Alexisonfire Cover) Lyrics

Old man sits at his desk
One year from retirement
And he's up for review
He's not quite sure what to doEach passing year
The workload growsI'm always wishing
I'm always wishing too late
For things to come my way
It always ends up the sameAnd I must be missing
I must be missing the point
Your signal fades away
And all I'm left with is noiseSo wait up
I'm not sleeping alone again tonight
There's so much to dream about
There must be more to my lifePoor little tin man
Still swinging his axe
Even though, even though
His joints are clogged with rustMy youth is slipping
My youth is slipping away

Safe in monotony
Day after dayMy youth is slipping
My youth is slipping away
Cold wind blows off the lake
And I know for sure that it's too lateSo wait up
I'm not sleeping alone again tonight
There's so much to dream about
There must be more to my lifeWait up
I'm not sleeping alone again tonight
Between the light and shallow waves
Is where I'm going to dieSo won't you wait up for me?
Won't you wait up for me?
Won't you wait up for me?
Oh, wait up for me

City and Colour is a band by former Alexisonfire guitarist and vocalist Dallas Green, started in 2004. The project title derives its name from Dallas’ own name: Dallas, a city, and Green, a colour. Dallas is praised by critics and fans alike for his strong, clear vocals and his guitar playing skills.

To date, Dallas has released two EPs, “The Death of Me” (2004) and “Missing” (2005), as well as three full length albums, “Sometimes” (2005), “Bring Me Your Love” (2008) and "Little Hell" (2011). Dallas Green also appears on Neverending White Lights' collaborative album Act 1: Goodbye Friends of the Heavenly Bodies (which was released in 2005), contributing vocals to the song "The Grace".

Recently he has started playing in an acoustic set with his Alexisonfire bandmate, Wade Macneil.
